PRESIDENT'S DINNER GOES DOWN WELL!...

Neither the Seniors nor the Youth saw action on frozen Saturday but thre was plenty to warm the cockles of a Clubman's heart the night before, when Phil Atkinson's first President's Dinner was a resounding success. Marvellous guest speakers Tom David and Phil Steele enthralled the 90 mixed diners aged from 18 to 80-odd, while the young Under-15s waiters had a great introduction to the world of the after dinner circuit. Former Secretary and stalwart Kevin Prosser proved a hugely popular recipient of Life Membership, too, with wife Lynette and sons Josh, Cross Keys' No. 10, and Lewys there to see it. A host of former players from the 1950s to the present day enjoyed a splendid meal and added to a great atmosphere. Tom, (despite being described as the second best Pontypridd back rower in the room after Rhymney product Dan Godfrey, son of Peter and Teresa!) donated signed Baabaas 1973 pictures for the raffle and lucrative auction, while Phil Steele sold out of the signed copies he had brought of his moving, revealing and inspiring biography. See pictures of the night on the Club website gallery section!
